Example of McDonalization

Nail Salons

Having your nails done is meant to be a relaxing and enjoyable experience. It should be like a spa treatment helping you unwind and making yourself feel better. However since the popularity of acrylic and fake nails in the early Noughties the business of these salons has become much more efficient, it is much more of an in and out system. The nail technician want to get people in and out as fast as possible while maintaining some quality. They aren’t relaxing experience due to the sound and smell and dust produced. Many salons are reminiscent of a factory system with a line of techs producing the nails at a fast rate, and the clients shuffle along the line. Everything tends to feel chaitoc.
